Music Videos Can Still Be Interesting

Some cool music videos have been coming up recently and I found it interesting that some artists will often take the easy way out and make a video that basically looks like a snapchat "my story" and yet some artists do put a great deal of care into all of what they make. 

Creativity over everything. 

here are some music video reviews of videos that have come out in the past week. 

Miguel - Coffee

This is an incredibly sexy song and video. Don't bother watching it at work. I'm very excited for this new Miguel album. He put a bunch of new songs on spotify and I encourage you go listen to them so that when the whole album drops and you are having sex to it, like everyone else will be, you can mouth the words awkwardly to your partner and impress them with how cool you are. 

GENER8ION + M.I.A. - The New International Sound Pt. II

The opening shot of this video shows the incredible pull MIA has internationally. Really fucking crazy. The video features  36,000 students of Shaolin Tagou, the biggest fighting school for kids in China. Their parents would be so proud of their little war machines. 

Heems - Damn Girl

Shot with a cool stop motion aesthetic, this video serves as a reminder for who Heems is. If you don't know Heems i think this video is an excellent way for you to get some sort of grip on him. Innovative in fashion, incredibly passionate, centered in the world of art and culture, and, at the risk of sounding cliche, the most unique rapper in the game at the time being. Also...homie can dance...

Devlin - 50 Grand ft Skepta

If you don't watch a ton of UK rap music videos you might not know that this video is technically cliche. UK Grime rappers love to walk towards the camera through overcast UK neighborhoods. I dont know why but they do. That being said, I find these long shots, where a rapper spits his entire verse without the camera moving, to be a breathe of fresh air.  Too many american rappers attempt to give people seizures by changing the shot every 2.2 seconds. . . yo...young thug...stop doing that shit.
