COE Show Shots: God Is An Astronaut

COE affiliated photographer, Stat Willand, has started to do some show shoots and we are going to be sharing them with ya'll. We have always been big fans of photographers that shoot artists and are able to capture their essence through photos. We're super excited to start sharing these with you.

“This Is The Music You Want Playing As You Take Your Last Breathe”

Irish space-rockers, God Is An Astronaut, completed their North American tour on Saturday (9/17 at Highline Ballroom), and what a performance to conclude their first North American tour in five years. GIAA treated the crowd to an eclectic mix of old and new that kept the ambient energy high throughout the night as they looked for more with every strum. The show had to come to a close unfortunately, but not without a little humor as Torsten and Jamie asked the crowd to act like the show was over before ripping through a few more. As the final chords of “Suicide By Star” rung out, the crowd called for “Zodiac” to close out the show, and the band obliged. North America can only hope they return again for us one day, but for now we wait.

COE has been creatively involved with multiple photographers since its birth. We have yet to do a show shots piece mostly because my man Stat has been traveling the earth taking beautiful pictures that I couldn't figure out how to work into a blog. We figured it out now and now we have this. Look forward to more show shots from Statler in the future.
