Meditative Music Playlist: Slow Down A Little

I have felt a lot of mental ups and downs recently in myself and people around me. Fluctuations in mood and demeanor effect yourself and others. I often resort to confrontation and while talking can solve things, sometimes you need to check yourself and allow things to roll off your shoulders.  Here is some music I have collected that I often turn to in an effort to escape mindsets that are detrimental to my day to day happiness...Maybe these can help someone else too.

DJ krush - Zen (2001) Seventh album from the japanese producer Hideaki Ishi also known as DJ Krush. Perfect for studying, rainy days, high sessions or anything else! 01- Song 1 0:00 02- Zen approach (feat. Black Thought) 05:18 03- Danger of love (feat. Zap Mama) 09:34 04- Sonic traveller (feat.

DJ Krush was a producer I came across a year or so ago when I was trying to learn more about Japan's production scene. The first few tracks in this always calm me and then Black Thought comes in and kills a verse but there is something still incredibly soothing about the project.

Built in to the middle of the Croatian Adriatic coast, the Sea Organ (Croatian ‘Morske orgulje‘) was designed by architect Nikola Bašić and built by Dalmatian stone carvers. After the devastation of World War II, chaotic reconstruction transformed the sea front in to a giant, unbroken concrete wall. It remained that way until 2005, when an urban renewal project transformed the coast again. At the end of the vast promenade, Bašić designed a 70 metre long stair case that descends in to the Adriatic sea. Underneath the steps are 35 organ pipes built in to subterranean tunnels. A column of air, pushed in turn by the waves, blows each organ pipe. The sound emerges above ground through labiums (whistles), which play 7 chords of 5 tones each. for more info & recordings visit - www.ahpuchrecords.com.au

Some of you might have heard of the Sea Organ someone made in Croatia. Its more or less a harmonica someone made on the coast that utilizes the waves to play music. Listening to music nature created on accident makes me slow down and appreciate more things.

I use this so much. I have certainly posted this on the site before but never the less I feel like its so crucial to who I am today. This track is a reminder to not rush through life...I don't want to go over the top in how much this song means to me but John Williams is a genius.

This track is both calming and daunting. William Basinski uses a disintegrating loop to translate the aspect of  life that is inevitable. When I first listened to this I felt an overwhelming sense of not being in this anxiety ridden path of life alone. Not being alone is a really nice thing. Don't feel like that.
