I have always been drawn to people that are quick on their feet. That can mean a lot of things in music but in 2016 it means capitalizing on pop culture in real time. That was what first grabbed my attention about club music.
Philly and Baltimore Club producers were masters of creativity, capitalizing, and not taking themselves too seriously. I remember DJ Sega handed me a CD at the Mad Decent Block Party where he and K Swift had 25 tracks of madness all with samples from all over the grid. The way club music took hilarious vocals from Chris Rock or Katt Williams and turned them into bangers was so appealing to me.
When Birdman had his now infamous Breakfast Club moment, I had a feeling someone might capitalize and I was correct.
Enter: Thunderbird Juicebox
TBJB is not new to Baltimore Club by any means. A Baltimore native and very real edm head, TBJB has been producing all sorts of shit for years. After going through some of his insane sounds, mind-boggling tempos, and creative vocal chops, I had to have him do a mix for us.
